TreasurerÕs Assistant: Collect & count money. Make change when necessary.
Floaters: Volunteers will help out whenever & wherever needed.
Fair Set-up & Breakdown: Thurs. & Fri. Layout, Measure, Stake & Number Vendor booths. Set up raffle area. Place direction signs on black top. Sunday pick up all Vendor booth number stakes & flags. Stack all tables in 4H building. Take down signs.
Vendor set-up: Help direct vendors to their assigned booth spaces & assist with set up if requested by the vendor.
4-H Building Set-up & Break-down: Friday set up display booths & tables, food & soil test area. Sunday help clean up area.
Hospitality: Welcome all people to the fair. Have knowledge of all areas, Count & record each person. One seed packet per family.
Vendor/MG Hospitality Room: Receive donated items, portion & serve to Vendors & MGs in Vendor/MG Hospitality room in Horning Hall.
Plant Check Set-up: Friday Help set up plant check area. Help set up tables & benches in holding area. Organize boxes.
Plant Check: Write receipts for customers checking in plants. Place plants in holding area. Retrieve plants when customers are ready to leave.
Clinic: Answer gardening questions.
Soil Testing: Learn how to calibrate & operate pH testing instruments & prepare soil samples. Analyze soil pH samples brought to the Fair by the public.
Raffle Set-up Friday: Help with the set-up, arrange benches & stock area with raffle donations. Volunteers need a truck to pick up raffle donations.
Raffle: Help sell raffle tickets. May help with drawings & giving out raffle prizes. Vendor plant pick-up.
Parking: Welcoming, directing & giving out helpful information. Making people feel comfortable & welcome.
10 Minute University: Assist in 10 minute classes taught every 30 minutes. Promote classes on fairground. Greet, pass out & pick up evaluations, & take head counts. Promote the MG program. Pass out handouts. Assist instructors as needed.
New Plant Introduction: Help with set-up, bidding, & closing of morning & afternoon ÒSilent AuctionÓ of grower donated plants.
The Potting Station: Help people create and design their newly purchased plants in a new container ready for the deck and garden.
